Claire Sweeney has been feeling the love from her son as she shared her first update on social media since paying a heartbreaking tribute to her former partner, Ricky Hatton.
The Coronation Street star returned to Instagram with a sweet snap of her and her young son, Jaxon, in a warm embrace as they spent some quality time together in the capital.
Claire, who is currently playing Cassie Plummer in the ITV soap, shared the post without a caption, but fans were quick to respond with messages of love and support.
Dancing on Ice co-star Chelsee Healey responded with two red heart emojis, while Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins replied: “Love this.” Socialite and TV personality Lizzie Cundy commented: “Beautiful. What you need my darling.”
@regentsparkskinexperts wrote: “Sending love Claire. A gorgeous hug from your little man. What a superstar.” @shazhad22 posted: “Precious, just what you need.. thinking of you.” @sharon_burr_bray shared: “Thinking of you both.” @jjjulz21 added: “Aww mamas boy! What a lovely boy you have.”
Claire shared more of what she and Jaxon had been up to on her Instagram Story, telling her followers they had headed to see Wicked in the West End.

Alongside a video of the curtain call, the former Brookside star said: “Took Jaxon to see @wickeduk. The voices and talent on stage were just phenomenal. We loved it #WickedUK.”
She also shared a sweet selfie of the pair as they enjoyed their Wicked-inspired drinks and treats as they sat in the theatre’s auditorium.
As mentioned, Claire’s social media returns comes after she paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend Ricky Hatton last week, following his tragic death.
The boxer was found dead in his home on September at the age of 46. It was previously confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious by Greater Manchester Police.
Last year, Ricky enjoyed an eight-month romance with actress Claire after they were reacquainted during the 2024 series of Dancing on Ice, more than 20 years after they had met for the first time.
Following the tragic news of his passing, the actress said: “I’ve needed a few days to process the devastating news about my dear friend Ricky.
“My thoughts are with his family especially his children Campbell, Millie Fearne and Lyla, his granddaughter. To them, Speaky and to all his friends who loved him so deeply and for so many years I send you my deepest sympathy.”
She added: “Ricky, you were the people’s champ. We adored and cherished you. Love you always.”
