The WTA Tour has rapidly moved on from the Billie Jean King Cup, with the China Open now taking centre stage in the schedule.
Aryna Sabalenka isn’t playing the China Open, but WTA stars Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova are all involved.
They are all seeded at the WTA 1000 tournament, along with the likes of Jessica Pegula and Jasmine Paolini.
And their appearances arrive after they battled it out in the Billie Jean King Cup final, where Italy beat the USA 2-0.
Lindsay Davenport was proud of the USA players, with the captain having guided the team to their first Billie Jean King Cup final since 2018.

They lost 3-0 to the Czech Republic that year, but clinched the title the year before with a 3-2 final win over Belarus.
But Italy managed to successfully defend their title this time around, with Paolini beating Pegula after Elisabetta Cocciaretto beat Emma Navarro.
Cocciaretto has, however, come crashing back down to earth since that superb individual and team triumph.
The Italian defeated Chloe Paquet in the first round of China Open qualifying, where she was the sixth seed.

But she has now failed to reach the main draw of the tournament after losing to Priscilla Hon in second round qualifying.
Her compatriot Paolini is the sixth seed at the event, where she starts off in the second round against Anastasija Sevastova.
Who is Billie Jean King Cup champion Elisabetta Cocciaretto?
It was another superb team display from Italy to win the Billie Jean King Cup, securing their sixth title in Shenzhen.
But it was Paolini and Cocciaretto who were the heroes against the USA, with the scheduled doubles match not required after Italy claimed an unassailable lead.
Paolini was full of praise for Pegula after defeating her 6-4, 6-2, which she did after Cocciaretto battled past Navarro 6-4, 6-4.
Cocciaretto can, of course, be forgiven for losing so early at the China Open, with her Billie Jean King Cup celebrations likely pouring into the event.
The 24-year-old is currently ranked 91st in the world, but the one-time WTA champion once reached as high as 29th.
She is 23-22 for the 2025 season, with her wins list including a stunning first round defeat of Pegula at Wimbledon.
