“I don’t see why we can’t do that and create our own legacy as a team.”
Lewis was given the number six shirt last December after the club brought the number out of retirement with the blessing of club legend Roger Millward’s family.
He has followed that up with a stellar 2025, as KR won the Challenge Cup for the first time in 45 years, and a first ever League Leaders’ Shield.
Lewis, who is likely to end the year in England’s Ashes Test side against Australia, was named in the Super League Dream Team and can now potentially become the first player to win back-to-back Man of Steel awards since Paul Sculthorpe in 2001 and 2002.
Head coach Willie Peters said his new deal was “important” for the game in this country.
“It’s a significant signing not just for Hull KR but for the Super League and the game in the UK,” the Australian said.
“It’s important for clubs to keep their up-and-coming stars over here with the expansion of the NRL.”
