Liverpool U18s responded to a shocking 8-3 defeat last time out with a 3-0 victory over Leeds, which brought their goal tally to 20 in just five league games this season.

Goals: Clarke 58′, Forrester 72′, Inglethorpe 86′
Incredibly, Liverpool U18s’ 3-0 win away to Leeds on Saturday morning was their lowest-scoring game of the new league campaign so far.
It came after an 8-3 thrashing at the hands of Blackburn the weekend previous, along with victories over Stoke (5-1) and Burnley (6-1) and a close-fought loss to Newcastle (4-3).
While results have been mixed, one thing Simon Wiles’ side have not been short of is goals, and their triumph at Thorp Arch made it 20 scored in five league games so far.
Liverpool were forced to wait until the second half before breaking the deadlock, having weathered the storm throughout the opening 45 minutes.
It was centre-back Lucas Clarke who opened the scoring, heading in from substitute Joe Upton’s inch-perfect corner.
Attacking midfielder AJ Yeguo’s creativity became particularly useful and it was the 16-year-old Pole who set up the second of the game for La’more Forrester, scoring in back-to-back games.
Substitute Finn Inglethorpe had a hand in that goal and then grabbed one of his own to seal the 3-0 victory, firing in at the second time of asking from another Yeguo assist.
Wiles was able to introduce the versatile Ollie O’Connor for his first appearance of the season after a long injury, with the 17-year-old now looking to build up his minutes following an impressive campaign last time out.
Next up for the U18s is a trip to Leicester in the cup, but before then some of those involved on Saturday will head to Istanbul to face Galatasaray U19s in the UEFA Youth League.
