Derby has been announced as the host city of the 2026 UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships.

The city council said the event – which involved artistic cycling and cycle-ball – would take place from 16 to 18 October 2026 at Derby Arena.

Artistic cycling has been described as gymnastics on a bike, while cycle-ball is a two-a-side team sport likened to football on a bike.

Councillor Ndukwe Onuoha said the Labour-run authority was “delighted” the event was coming to the city and added it would bring benefits for local businesses as well as tourism.
