Leigh Leopards and St Helens booked their spot in the Super League play-off semi-finals over the weekend
St Helens pulled off one of the most dramatic victories you’re likely to see as a rugby league fan as Shane Wright snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a try after the hooter to finish a move that consisted of 16 passes. They’ll take on Hull KR on Saturday now for a spot at the Grand Final.
Leigh will take on Wigan Warriors on Friday after they beat Wakefield Trinity convincingly at Leigh Sports Village.
Here’s our team of the week from the eliminator round of the play-offs.

Super League team of the week
Full-back: Bailey Hodgson (Leigh Leopards)
Outstanding against Wakefield Trinity as his constant work rate and energy with the ball in hand contributing to exhausting the visitors on Friday night.
Wing: Keanan Brand (Leigh Leopards)
Got the first try of the night at Leigh Sports Village and demonstrated why he’s one of the most improved players in Super League this year.
Centre: Harry Robertson (St Helens)
His effort in setting up that last try alone puts him in this team. Superb from the youngster
Centre: Tesi Niu (Leigh Leopards)
A powerhouse showing on the left edge. Didn’t get his rewards in good ball but never stopped pushing.
Wing: Jon Bennison (St Helens)
Controversy surrounds it but it’s his try that brought St Helens back into the contest.
Half-back: Jake Connor (Leeds Rhinos)
Excellent for a huge period but his efforts came in defeat.
Half-back: Lachlan Lam (Leigh Leopards)
Sent out a real statement just days after failing to make it into the Dream Team and onto the Man of Steel shortlist.
Prop: Joe Ofahengaue (Leigh Leopards)
Arguably his best showing yet as he continues to excel through the middle in leopard print.
Hooker: Edwin Ipape (Leigh Leopards)
Made the Leopards tick with his energy around the ruck to prevent Wakefield from building up any line speed whatsoever.
Prop: Shane Wright (St Helens)
Scored the try that will be talked about for decades to come. It didn’t come as a prop but he had to be included somehow.
Second row: Curtis Sironen (St Helens)
A strong showing from the Australian, who still doesn’t have a deal announced for next season.
Second row: James McDonnell (Leeds Rhinos)
Showed why he was included in the Dream Team with another really impressive performance in the back-row. He might just be in with a shout of booking a spot in Shaun Wane’s England squad, too.
Loose forward: Isaac Liu
A man of the match showing from the loose-forward who was simply sensational against the Trin.
