Unfortunately for Esteban Ocon, it seems that this qualifying session is similar to many other occurrences that have taken place this year in F1. Often struggling in the exercise, the single-seaters Haas often find themselves having to make big comebacks to make up for sometimes sluggish sessions. For him, the Singapore GP promises to be tricky again.
bothered by Pierre Gasly and his exit from the track at the end of Q1, the Tricolore explained to Canal+ the reasons for this poor performance. “We lost three tenths on this last attempt, he explained. That put us in Q2. We also had a problem with the seatbelts on the first lap. It’s the stuff of excuses, but it’s the truth. I don’t really know what to do anymore. One time we have a problem, the next we get the yellow flag, it’s complicated. Every time we have the impression that something is going wrong, even though it works most of the time on Friday. Disappointing, but we’ll do our best for tomorrow and seize the opportunities.”

Accustomed to developing strategies to improve his race position, the Frenchman will have to operate this time in a Singapore GP that is not very conducive to overtaking this Sunday.
