PS5 Firmware Update Push Square

A new PS5 firmware update is available to download now, but it is something of a secret at the moment as Sony has not shared word of it anywhere online, and the PS5 console doesn’t prompt you to download it either.

Weighing in at 1.34GB, you can trigger a download from the Settings menu on your PS5 by selecting the System option and then clicking System Software Update and Settings. The top option should tell you an update is available.

Straight from Sony, the patch note for update 25.05-11.60.00 is the following:

We’ve improved system software performance and stability.

After a few PS5 firmware updates have focused on other areas of the console experience, it’s always nice of Sony to return to its classic stability enhancements. It’s unlikely there’ll be any other changes made under the hood with this firmware update, but if anything else crops up, we’ll update this article.
