Louis Rees-Zammit is an injury doubt for Wales’ November internationals after hurting his foot in Bristol Bears’ Gallagher Prem clash against Saracens..

The Wales international was forced off the field in the 67th minute of Bristol’s heavy 50-17 defeat at Saracens. the Welshman had to be helped off the field with a foot injury and was seen limping into the changing room.

The TNT Sports commentary team confirmed it was a foot injury but its severity is currently unclear.

This will concern Wales head coach Steve Tandy who is due to name his squad for a tough autumn series against Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa later this month.

Bristol suffered a crushing defeat against Saracens but Rees-Zammit played well despite the one-sided scoreline, setting up two tries.

Tandy will have his fingers crossed Rees-Zammit’s injury is not too serious ahead of a difficult November. The squad is due to be announced during the week beginning October 20.

The prospect of Rees-Zammit lining up in a back-three alongside the likes of Blair Murray, Josh Adams or Tom Rogers is an exciting one.

Rees-Zammit is one of the deadliest finishers in world rugby and will bring a cutting edge to the Wales backline if he is passed fit to play this autumn.
