The Bevan Health & Wellbeing Centre was opened on Thursday, October 2, by Jeremy Miles, MS, Cabinet Secretary for Health & Social Care, in phase two of the development.
Situated in the heart of Tredegar, the centre represents a significant boost to the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s goal of providing integrated, community-based care.
The facility unites a broad range of services under one roof, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.
The centre is designed to make care more accessible and closer to home for residents.
It is an integral part of the health board’s Clinical Futures Programme, which aims to reshape healthcare across Gwent by moving more services into community settings and decreasing dependence on hospital-based care.
At the inauguration ceremony, health secretary Jeremy Miles said: “I’m delighted to officially open the Bevan Health and Wellbeing Centre today.
“The centre represents the kind of transformative healthcare we are aiming to deliver across Wales – making care more accessible and closer to home and bring together primary care, mental health support and wellbeing services under one roof.
“Named after the founder of the NHS, Aneurin Bevan, this health and wellbeing centre shows how we can deliver care which isn’t just about treating illness, but also promotes wellness and helps people to live healthier lives.
“This is the future of healthcare in Wales – community-focused, integrated services and designed around the needs of local people.”
The event saw attendance from local government representatives, partner organisations, and staff from the construction and design teams who helped bring the centre into existence.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s chief executive, Nicola Prygodzicz, said: “We are delighted to officially open The Bevan Health & Wellbeing Centre, a facility that reflects our vision for the future of healthcare in Gwent.
“This Centre is more than just a building, it’s a hub for integrated care, designed to support people in the local communities live healthier, more connected lives.

The Bevan Health & Wellbeing Centre has been designed to promote healing and connection, featuring natural light and flexible areas for community use.
