A dominant debut victory by talented colt Young Mister Grace has trainer Brad Widdup convinced he can go on with the job at his home-track Hawkesbury on Thursday.
Widdup produced Young Mister Grace to score at Hawkesbury as a heavily backed $1.50 favourite on September 25. He won by more than three lengths and is out to maintain an unbeaten start when lining up in the XXXX Gold C,G&E Benchmark 64 Handicap (1100m).

“He’s a colt by Anders and out of a Zoustar mare, and he’d shown us a bit of ability at home and in his trials before he had his first start,” Widdup said.
“It was good to see him come out in that event and get the job done. He raced away in what was an impressive win and, from the inside barrier on Tuesday, he gets his chance to go on with things.”
Dylan Gibbons was in the saddle on Young Mister Grace at his first race start. He retains the ride in Thursday’s event.
Widdup will start the day at Hawkesbury when The Biv contests the Richmond Club Super Maiden Handicap (1000m) with Christian Reith taking the ride.
“She’s a Bivouac filly having her first start after three trials,” Widdup said. “I’m looking forward to seeing her step out under race conditions to see what she can do.”
First-starter Yeszem will represent the stable in the Brad Widdup Racing Provincial Racing Maiden Plate (1100m). Tyler Schiller will partner the Yes Yes Yes filly.
“She had a trial at Kembla Grange back in April and has had another two recently leading into her debut,” Widdup said.
