If you’re still looking for love, have you thought about getting into show business and then scoping out the scene during an audition for the musical adaptation of the 2007 film Waitress? This is, sort of, how singer Sara Bareilles met her now-husband, Joe Tippett; they tied the knot on Saturday. Over the weekend, the Mare of Easttown actor posted a photo dump on Instagram featuring an image of him and Bareilles cradling and smiling at each other while looking altogether enamored. “Marrying My Best Friend Today,” he wrote. “May We All Be So Lucky.”

Bareilles confirmed the news in her own photo dump on Tuesday, writing in the most millennial way possible, “We did a big thing.” The photos showed the newlyweds smooching on their wedding day and laughing in candid shots of what appears to be a “First Look” bridal reveal, as well as Bareilles waltzing down a carpet-covered aisle behind the couple’s dog Louie, who wore a doggy tuxedo and a red bowtie. “I will just say I love this man and I love the community who came to hold us up,” she wrote. “I am feeling so lucky and so grateful. ❤️.”

Bareilles, who’s mostly known for her pop ballads but was also the composer-lyricist and star of 2016’s Waitress: The Musical, met Tippett during the show’s out-of-town tryout at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge in 2015. He was later cast as Bareilles’s onstage husband, Earl, and the duo acted together during both the original run and the show’s 2021 Broadway encore. They hard-launched their relationship in 2017, and now write regular love letters to each other via Instagram. In 2023, Tippett proposed to Bareilles with a makeshift ring on a rooftop in Mexico City. Of the moment, the singer wrote, “Yes to marrying this man. It’s an easy, earned, relaxed YES. @joetipps you are exactly who I want. The more I know you the more I know I love you … and you have introduced me to parts of myself I was afraid to love.”

Glad to see love is still alive out there. Congratulations to the happy couple, and here’s hoping we get another photo shoot of Louie in human clothes sometime soon.
