Axed Rangers manager Russell Martin looks like he doesn’t have care in the world as he pouts for camera days after chop

RUSSELL MARTIN looked carefree and relaxed in images shared just days after his sacking as Rangers boss.

The former Ibrox gaffer pouted for the camera in pictures shared on social media by ex-model girlfriend Lucy Pinder.

Martin, 39, was dismissed by Rangers on Sunday just hours after his side drew 1-1 at Falkirk.

The decision came after scenes that saw the former Scotland international sneaked out of the Falkirk Stadium by a side door and into a car after raging Gers fans blocked the team bus from leaving.

Martin’s axe came after just 123 days in charge, making him the shortest-serving permanent boss in the club’s history.

He also won just five of his 17 matches in charge, with only one victory from seven league games.

On Tuesday, Martin was spotted at Loch Lomond with ex-glamour model partner Lucy, 41.

The ex-Gers coach took a dip in the water, just weeks after he caused a stir by taking his underperforming players to the very same location for a bit of wild swimming and a hike up Conic Hill.

Now, fresh images of Martin have emerged in the wake of his Ibrox sacking.

Girlfriend Lucy shared a couple of images showing the former defender looking relaxed and in a carefree mood despite the dramatic events of recent days.

In the first image, Martin has a smile on his face.

The second picture shared to Lucy’s Instagram story – where she has more than 217,000 followers – shows the former boss pouting for the camera.

She also shared the pic with a love heart emoji.

It isn’t exactly clear when or where the pictures of Martin were taken.

With the international break now underway, Rangers chiefs have a little bit of time to gather their thoughts before deciding on a successor.

Former Gers boss Steven Gerrard quickly emerged as the favourite for the role and he’s now ODDS-ON to make a remarkable return to the dugout at Ibrox.

And the club look set to open talks with Gerrard, 45, THIS WEEK according to reports.

The Liverpool and England legend appeared on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast earlier this week with his former international teammate.

In the interview, Gerrard revealed he had “unfinished business” as far as his managerial career goes.

He previously managed Rangers between 2018 and 2021, leading the Light Blues to a first league title in a decade.

Gerrard left for Aston Villa in November 2021 but was sacked just a year later.

His most recent job was in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ettifaq, a whole he left after 18 months earlier this year.
