Senior Project Engineer (CEM/DPE) – Signalling – Rail Infrastructure Projects

We’re working with a leading rail delivery organisation on the lookout for a Senior Project Engineer (Signalling) to support a portfolio of renewals and re-signalling projects. This role is focused on schemes progressing through ES3 (Single Option Identified and Endorsed) and ES4 (Design Standards Approved and Approval in Principle) stages.
Key Requirements:
Prior experience as a DPE or CEM is essential to obtain Authority to Work
Strong working knowledge of Network Rail standards and engineering assurance processes
Proven background in signalling design, integration, and technical leadership
Ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces and ensure compliance across the project lifecycle
The Role: You’ll be the technical lead across multiple signalling-focused programmes, ensuring engineering assurance, design coordination, and stakeholder alignment. The role demands a proactive approach to risk management, compliance, and delivery excellence.
Ideal Candidate:
Degree-qualified or chartered engineer (or equivalent experience)
Deep understanding of rail signalling systems and standards
Comfortable working in regulated, fast-paced environments
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
