Synopsis
Less than a month back it appeared that the market was preparing for the next leg of the rally. There was optimism that if the Q1 earnings season panned out well and threw up some positive surprises, the next leg was inevitable. Things have, however, not turned out as expected, with Q1 proving a mixed bag. And volatility is back with a bang. The broader market indices, the Nifty and Sensex, are up one day and down the other. So, it is time to review your portfolio, especially stocks from the mid-cap segment, where the street has turned stock-specific, rewarding performers and pushing down laggards.
It has been said before, and we will say it again: There is nothing in the market you can assert with 100% certainty. Less than a month ago, there was cautious optimism about the next leg of the rally. What we have got instead is volatility and wildly oscillating indices. Given the current choppiness of the market, which incidentally saw a smart rally today (Wednesday), it is probably time to review and readjust your portfolio. Especially so if
