An opportunity for a couple to move to a picturesque Scottish island for work has come up. The jobs come with a three-bedroom cottage with its own garden.

Currently, a “beautiful estate” on the Isle of Mull is looking to hire two people. The couple will be tasked with managing the everyday running of the estate, as well as its holiday lets.

According to the job listing on Greycoat Lumleys, the roles will involve 40 hours of work per week. The salary for the positions is listed as £60,000.

The main perk of the jobs is the “charming” three-bedroom cottage with a garden within the estate that is provided. Utility bills and council tax will be payable by the employees.

Additionally, the individuals will have the use of an estate vehicle for work. Training will be provided for any required duties of the roles.

Among the responsibilities of the successful applicants will be meeting and welcoming guests and the weekly cleaning of properties, including laundry services. Meanwhile, the ordering of household goods and supplies must also be carried out.

Other duties include operating ground care machinery and building repairs. The staff will also be tasked with water supply maintenance and log cutting.

Additionally, the positions will include various gardening tasks. The estate is home to a walled kitchen garden, with weeding, mowing, strimming, and chainsaw work all required.

There will also be a number of “not essential” duties to be carried out. The include boat duties and boat maintenance, livestock management, and salmon river management.

According to the Greycoat Lumleys website, the jobs are a “fantastic opportunity to run a successful business”. The listing describes the estate as being home to “beautiful properties in a stunning coastal setting”.

When not working, there is no shortage of things to see and do around Mull. The island’s main town of Tobermory is home to many shops and restaurants, while top beauty spots include the Eas Fors Waterfall and Langamull Beach.

The job listing states: “This beautiful estate located on the Isle of Mull is looking for an Experienced Couple with passion and commitment to live within the estate and run its operations. The individuals will be responsible for the day to day running of the estate and its holiday let properties.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to run a successful business with the very highest standards and beautiful properties in a stunning coastal setting.”

Greycoat Lumleys adds: “The individuals have the use of an estate vehicle for their duties and will be provided with any training required to perform the duties of their roles. These positions are not short-term roles, hence living and working on the island must suit the lifestyle of the applicants.”
