Castleford Tigers have released another under-contract player from the club, in what is their sixth departure this off-season.
Having already let captain Sam Wood go, the Tigers have lived up to their word, after saying they will pull no punches when it comes to letting their contracted players go in order to get their squad where they want it to be next year.
Winger Innes Senior, is the latest player to depart the club, having spent the last two seasons at the Onebore Stadium. In his time in Black and Amber, Senior made 45 appearances, scoring 24 tries.
The 25-year-old, who played alongside twin brother Louis at the club, is also a three-time Ireland international, having represented them in the 2022 World Cup. He scored one try in that tournament, touching down against Jamaica in the opening group stage match.
The Tigers have already signed a number of backs that will slot in to replace him. The Fijian duo of Semi Valemei and Mikaele Ravalawa are more than capable replacements, with the pair having a wealth of NRL tries and appearances between them.
Castleford Tigers release centre to “pursue other opportunities”
In a statement released on Castleford’s X account, the club wrote:
“Castleford Tigers can confirm that Innes Senior has been released from the remainder of his contract to pursue playing opportunities elsewhere.
“We wish Innes all the best for the future and thank him for his service to Castleford Tigers.”
