Gstaad has been supported to reverse the form of his National Stakes defeat to Zavateri in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes (3.00).
Aidan O’Brien’s Coventry Stakes winner was a head behind Zavateri at the Curragh last month, but he has been backed into 2-1 favouritism (from 100-30) with Paddy Power.
Ante-post favourite Distant Storm has drifted to 5-2 with the same firm, whose spokesman Paul Binfield said: “Gstaad has been backed to reverse the National Stakes form with cross-sea rival Zavateri.
“If either of them or Godolphin’s Distant Storm prevail, we’ll almost certainly have a new Guineas favourite and if Gstaad or Distant Storm were to score well, we could well have a sub 3-1 ‘jolly’.”
