Boxing is back in Hull
Professional boxing returns to Hull on Saturday November 8 with a show featuring a host of local talent, headlined by unbeaten welterweight Harvey Lambert.
The event at the DoubleTree by Hilton is the second this year at the venue and once again is promoted by the Humber Boxing Network and Soft Micks.
With six local boxers on the card, Lambert steps up in quality when putting his 5-0 record on the line against experienced European contender Steve Suppan from Holland.
The International Super-welterweight challenger will be a tough test of the Hull boxer’s credentials as Lambert looks to make a step up before a planned move towards his own title fights next year.
The former Great Britain Olympic podium squad member is continuing to build himself back up after a period of inactivity and will see this as an opportunity for a statement victory.
Elsewhere on the bill, Liam Macmillan is in a rematch with Jake Osgood after the two saw the fight on May’s ‘Homecoming’ show at the same venue cut short by a freak injury.
Humber Boxing Network promoter Harry Booth said: “The Homecoming show proved Hull is hungry for boxing. With this show called Ignition, we’re turning up the heat— laying the foundation for local fighters to really step it up and make our region proud.”
Joining the bill are Hull boxers Chelsey Arnell, Louis West and Harry Edgecumbe, while Bridlington ’s James Precious makes his pro’ debut against the experienced Robbie Chapman.
Tickets are on sale now priced £45 for standing or £60 seated. Tickets are available via Eventbrite, search for Ignition, or directly from the fighters.
