An antisocial black swan who was moved across the country to Devon after terrorising tourists has finally calmed down – after finding a ‘wife’ in his new home.

Reggie – nicknamed The Terminator – had been tormenting people and birds in Stratford-upon-Avon for nine months. The bird was then captured by swan warden Cyril Bennis and moved 150 miles down to Dawlish, Devon.

In his new home there is a flock of black swans, and Reggie has already picked up a new wife.

Donald Phillips, from the Dawlish Waterfowl Centre where Reggie has been rehomed, said Reggie had “settled in very well” and had already found a mate.

He said he had two females ready for him. After selecting the right swan for him, Mr Phillips moved him on to a farm where they have a lake and ducks.

Mr Phillips said: “He has not been aggressive at all. He has been very friendly and just making himself at home. He already picked his wife-to-be.”

Mr Phillips believes Reggie had been behaving badly in his former home because he was “very frustrated”.
