Liam Gallagher has become a grandad for the first time after his daughter Molly Moorish gave birth to a baby boy. In May, former Liverpool defender Nat Phillips and Molly confirmed they were expecting a baby.
The former Liverpool FC centre back, who now plays for Championship side West Brom, confirmed his romance with Liam Gallagher’s daughter in 2022, when Molly shared a picture of herself with Nat on Instagram.
Molly is the Oasis frontman’s daughter from his relationship with singer Lisa Moorish. Wonderwall singer Liam became a dad for the first time in March 1998, after Lisa fell pregnant with daughter Molly just two months into the singer’s marriage to Patsy Kensit.
Molly announced the arrival of her baby boy, Rudy, today October 11, with an adorable snap of her footballer boyfriend Nat Phillips holding the baby. An Instagram post was captioned: “A message to you, Rudy.”
Molly’s mum Lisa reacted to the news of her grandson’s birth, commenting: “That last slide!!! ‘IM RUDY I’M NEW’ My beautiful grandson.”
Curtis Jones’ fiance Saffie Khan commented “congratulations” alongside a red heart emoji and brother Gene Gallagher left a series of heart emojis to mark the special birth.
Holly Ramsay, the daughter of TV chef Gordon Ramsay wrote: “Congratulations” and model Daisy Lowe added: “Biggest congratulations sweetheart.”

Liam had reacted to the news of his daughter’s pregnancy earlier this year by posting a clip of Clive Dunn’s 1970 song Grandad on social media site X.
Molly did not meet Liam until she was 20 but previously explained that she didn’t feel “anger” about growing up without her father’s presence in her life.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper in 2019: “I don’t have any anger. I’m 21 now. I’m actually thankful for how I was brought up with my mum and how my life’s been.”
She has also become close with her half-siblings Gene and Lennon Gallagher and her cousin Anais Gallagher. The cousins were pictured posing together at a Burberry show during London Fashion Week in September 2024.
Phillips played an important part in Liverpool’s resurgence to secure a Champions League spot in 2021 as he filled in during the Reds’ centre-half crisis. Molly’s dad is a huge Manchester City fan, but it appears as though the former Liverpool FC defender has well and truly been welcomed by the family.
Phillips arrived at the club’s Academy set-up in 2016 on the back of a trial, and would go on to make 29 senior appearances. His debut came in January 2020 when he temporarily returned from a loan spell at VfB Stuttgart to play in an FA Cup victory over Everton at Anfield, before returning to Germany.
The defender was then hugely important as he stepped up to play 20 times in the next campaign and help Jürgen Klopp’s injury-affected Liverpool secure third place and Champions League qualification.
Phillips eventually said a final farewell to the club when a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion was announced in June 2025.
