Concerns have been raised after councillors discovered a town’s metal horse statue is missing its rear end.
Normally when passing by Downham’s town centre traffic lights on Bexwell Road, visitors would be greeted by an ordinary-looking small metal horse sculpture.
However, during Downham Town Council’s meeting on Tuesday evening, Cllr Frank Daymond pointed out that it appears to be lacking a behind.

“It seems to me someone’s chopped the a*se-end of the horse off,” he said.
He called for the council to make inquiries to see if it can be “put back right”.
Laughter erupted from the town hall before Cllr Barry Hobbs, the deputy mayor, suggested it may have been part of a game.

“I think someone was trying to pin the donkey’s tail on there, and it all went wrong,” he joked.
To which Cllr Draymond replied: “Obviously it was the deputy mayor who was doing it.”
The authority’s clerk is set to speak to West Norfolk Council to make sure the issue is resolved.
