Clive Parade Pharmacy on Cricklade Road has invested heavily into improving its facilities, adding extra consulting rooms and expanding the range of health services available to residents.
The healthcare hub near The Moonrakers opened in May 2023 and offers NHS services, minor ailment support, and a growing range of clinical provisions tailored to local needs.
Mayor of Swindon, Fay Howard, attended the relaunch event earlier this month and praised the pharmacy’s investment in the local community as well as its commitment to improving access to healthcare.
Pharmacist Asim Iqbal said the relaunch marks a new chapter for the pharmacy.
He added: “We don’t just want to be a place where people collect their medicines.
“We want patients to know they can come to us for advice, treatment, and ongoing support with their health.
“By investing in our premises and services, we’re bringing healthcare closer to the community, right on the high street.”
As well as NHS services like Pharmacy First – where a prescribing pharmacist can treat minor ailments without a GP appointment – the pharmacy continues to work closely with local surgeries to provide blood pressure checks and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring.
The relaunch introduced a wide range of private clinical services, including: professional earwax removal, a weight loss clinic, mole removal, ear piercing, and a travel clinic.
Mr Iqbal added: “Since taking over the pharmacy from Lloyds in 2023, it has not been without its challenges.
“I want to sincerely thank our patients and local residents for their continued support.
“There have been many long nights after closing, working to keep the pharmacy going and making sure our services are up to date.
“This refurbishment is for them — to give the community the modern, accessible pharmacy they deserve.”
He also highlighted the vital role that community pharmacies play: “I believe pharmacies are much more than just a place to collect medication.
“They are a vital part of the community — accessible, approachable, and available to everyone. Our services should be used to their full potential, helping to reduce pressure on GP surgeries and hospitals while supporting patients closer to home.”
The relaunch event welcomed local residents to see the improvements, meet the team, and learn more about the services on offer.
Clive Parade Pharmacy has remained open throughout the refurbishment and looks forward to serving the community for many years to come.
