A person has died after being hit by a train near a railway bridge.
The incident happened near Otterham Quay Lane in Rainham this morning and is affecting the route between Faversham and Gillingham.

Southeastern says no trains are running between the two stations whilst emergency services deal with the incident.
Police were called to the scene at about 6am.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 6am this morning to reports of a casualty on the tracks in the Rainham area.
“Officers responded with paramedics; however, sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A Southeastern spokesperson wrote on X: “Because of a person having been hit by a train, services are currently unable to run between Faversham and Gillingham.
“You may use your ticket at no extra charge on Arriva buses from Rainham to Gillingham, Stagecoach route X3 from Maidstone to Sittingbourne and on the London Underground between our terminal stations.”
Otterham Quay Lane is shut in both directions between the railway bridge and Leigh Academy while emergency services are on the scene.

It said: “We have been informed of an incident at the blue railway bridge this morning, which multiple emergency services have responded to.
“This means Otterham Quay Lane is currently closed from the school to Wakeley Road. Trains are also cancelled.
“Please leave additional time to get to school. It can still be accessed from the A2.”
Buses are also delayed, with Travelmasters saying on social media: “Due to the incident at Rainham train station, our 372 will be delayed but is in service so please wait at your stops.”
