Manchester United have let some very talented footballers leave over the past few years for virtually nothing, and the latest mistake is beginning to prove it.

For all the talented young footballers Manchester United have recruited, there is a similar number of prospects who have been allowed to leave for a ridiculous fee.

It is almost like giving away these talents, with some already proving themselves after being let go.

Alvaro Fernandez is now shining for Real Madrid, having been initially discarded by United for £5m in 2024. To a lesser-known extent, Maxi Oyedele has been impressive since leaving, earning a move to Strasbourg.

Similarly, United will regret letting Ethan Galbraith go, as he looks more and more likely to be a Premier League player next season and could easily have been a squad player for United.

All the aforementioned players would have a place in Ruben Amorim’s squad right now, at different levels.

However, in the near future, we can see Zach Baumann joining this list.

On transfer deadline day, United let Baumann depart for Norwich City, in a move which sees the talented teenager bet on his chances of breaking through into the Championship side.

Well, despite yet to debut, Baumann has now scored his first goal for Norwich U21, and it was an excellent goal and he also added an assist.

Baumann picked the ball up in the number 10 position before using his power and pace to drive through the defence, before coolly sliding the ball into the bottom corner.

Norwich can uncover Zach Baumann’s immense quality

It was a bit of a surprise when United decided to let Baumann leave the club permanently, considering he is viewed as a top talent.

Last season, Baumann was called into first-team training under Amorim, which only a lucky number of young players get the chance to do.

We have completed the signing of Zach Baumann from Manchester United ✍️

Comparisons to Adam Wharton are correct, as the pair look a match physically, with long legs and being capable of being an all-action midfielder.

Baumann is also capable of excellent offensive moments, as he showcased in his maiden Norwich goal.
