Today it was a crisper, simpler take. Kate Middleton kept her jewellery to a minimum, wearing her stack of rings and simple gold shamrock earrings which were first seen on a visit to Ireland in 2020. The star of the show was the coat dress, which proved the perfect choice on a crisp autumn day.

Royal style experts have previously noted how the Princess of Wales appears to use fashion to communicate a message. ‘Kate uses a lovely styling trick – using her clothes and accessories to convey a message that says “we’re united” and people are very receptive towards that and will welcome her in,’ one previously told the Daily Mail. ‘By doing this, clever Kate also manages to enhance her likeability factor.’

The style brilliance continued with her second look of the day. The Princess of Wales channelled her inner Queen Elizabeth II with country-worthy layers, teaming a black turtleneck with a chunky grey knit jumper and the indispensible Barbour jacket.

It is a busy time for the Prince and Princess of Wales who are expected to soon move home with their young family. It was recently confirmed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are upping sticks to Forest Lodge, the Grade II listed Georgian home within the 4,800-acre Windsor Great Park estate.
