Catalans Dragons have announced the early departure of prop forward Jordan Dezaria.
The France international was contracted until the end of the 2026 Super League season but an agreement has been reached between the player and the club to bring an end to his contract at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.
Dezaria is a product of the Catalans academy, but the decision to end his contract now brings an end to his second spell with the club. The 28-year-old broke through to make his first team debut for the Dragons in 2016 but he made just five appearances before moving on to join Leigh Leopards in 2018.
He would spend time on loan at Oldham and Workington before joining Toulouse Olympique in 2019 and he made 13 appearances for the French outfit before returning to Catalans in 2020.
He made 83 outings for Catalans in his second spell, helping the club reach two Grand Finals and scoring three tries.
However, he played 16 times for the Dragons last season while also making three appearances on loan at Castleford Tigers.
Dezaria will now leave the club in favour of ‘a new challenge and a fresh start’ elsewhere.
“I want to thank the club for all these years,” Dezaria said, bidding farewell to the Perpignan outfit. “The Dragons mean a lot to me, and it’s been a real pleasure to wear these colours.
“I’ve made friends and experienced some great memories. After so many years here, I felt I needed a new challenge and a fresh start. The club understood my decision and agreed to release me from the final year of my contract, for which I’m very grateful.”
Catalans Dragons have made a raft of new signings for the 2026 season as they prepare to turn over a new leaf under head coach Joel Tomkins, with Ben Condon becoming the latest man to sign for the club. He will be joined at the Stade Gilbert Brutus by Lewis Dodd, Charlie Staines, Toby Sexton, Josh Simm, Harvey Wilson, Solomona Faataape, Josh Allen, Zac Lipowicz and Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui.
