Brentford have unveiled statement signing Jordan Henderson after the former Liverpool captain signed a two-year deal.

The England midfielder, 35, has spent the past two years of his career overseas with Saudi side Al-Ettifaq and Dutch giants Ajax.

But he will make his Premier League return at the Gtech Community Stadium this season, with new boss Keith Andrews welcoming an experienced head to the dressing room.

“I’ve always had huge admiration for the club and what they’ve achieved over the past few years,” said Henderson.

“After a couple of years away I have that fire to come back and play in the Premier League again. It’s a big challenge but one that I was keen on doing.”
