Lukasz Sledzinski captured the images of Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon from Breydon Water, Great Yarmouth, on Wednesday.

This comet was discovered in Arizona on January 3, 2025.

It comes from the Oort Cloud and takes 1,350 years to travel around the sun.

In this current orbit, Comet Lemmon will reach its closest point to Earth – 55.4 million miles – on October 21.

But, according to Space.com, it is already at a magnitude of +5.2, which is close enough to be visible to the human eye if the sky is especially dark.

Anyone with a pair of binoculars will be able to see it shortly after sunset.

As Mr Sledzinski’s photos show, Comet Lemmon has a blue-ish tail that appears roughly double the diameter of the moon.

The photographer said: “The weather was far from perfect, so this is just 71 frames stitched together – but not bad considering the clouds.”
