Wrestling Observer head Dave Meltzer has claimed that Triple H is calling WWE‘s shift to using AI for creative purposes “inevitable”. This will be high up on the list of news items fans thought they’d never be reading as 2025 comes to a close. According to Meltzer, the recent hire of Cyrus Kowsari as Senior Director of Creative Strategy will play a significant role in this shift.
WWE reportedly has a deal in place with the Writer AI platform, but early experimentation hasn’t exactly gone smoothly. Meltzer claims he was told by sources within the company that one of the recent ideas spewed out by AI bizarrely cast Bobby Lashley (who is no longer with the promotion and currently plies his trade on the AEW roster) as “a wrestler obsessed with Japanese culture and history”.
It’s safe to assume that Trips wouldn’t be calling up Bobby and pitching that for a comeback on Raw or SmackDown.
Fans raising an eyebrow at all of this might also be interested to hear from Dave that Kowsari could be contacting the White House due to Hunter’s work there. That’s a sentence which sounds AI generated! It’s important to stress that all of this is coming from Meltzer’s mouth – several on social media have already pointed out that the Observer boss will look rather silly if none of it is true.
However, as aforementioned, Dave did also state that Triple H called AI usage “inevitable”. If so, then it’d need to start coming up with better plots than workers no longer on the roster suddenly developing a fascinating with Japanese culture. Meh, stranger things have happened in the biz…right?!
This is something to keep an eye on. Or laugh at. Your choice.
