The huge sculpture depicts a bearded man sitting down with his arms resting on his briefcase.
Installed in recent weeks, it was sculpted by Sean Henry, an artist based in Hampshire.
His approach fuses the disciplines of ceramics with those of sculpture and his works include the Seated Figure at the North York Moors National Park, created in 2017.

Now the exhibition ‘Who Am I?’ has opened outside the business school on Park End Street, with 10 sculptures being showcased.
It has attracted comment from passers-by(Image: Ed Burnett)
The exhibits were created between 2001 and 2024 and have been installed within the lobby and corridors of the building, with the largest artwork – the 3m high Seated Figure – found outside the front entrance.
Sean Henry said the exhibit reflects his interest in “identity” and is intended to consider the role of art in business and to question ideas of status and individuality.

On his website, he said: “We are all very adept at reading the human form, from details of clothing to body language to a look in the eye, and we generally make judgements and decisions about people quite rapidly.

“With most of my sculptures I strive to keep the identity of the sitter anonymous, and to engage with what I call ‘the psychology of scale’ by deliberately making my figures either smaller or larger than life size.
“This shift in scale leaves room for the imagination, and allows space for the viewer in terms of what they bring to the encounter with the artworks themselves.”
The exhibit runs until January 15, 2026.
