Midlands Hurricanes are well on their way to building for the upcoming Championship season, having already announced a plethora of singings for 2026.

The arrivals range from Super League youngster Zach Jebson to second tier stalwart Danny Craven, and the Canes are not done yet, with the club confirming their eighth signing ahead of next year.

The new recruit has an abundance of experience, too, having played in Super League and the Championship. Hooker Brandon Moore is a man with 250 career games under his belt, and will look to add to that with his move to Midlands now being finalised.

A legend of Halifax Panthers, Moore made his senior debut in 2016, in a Challenge Cup game against amateur side Pilkington Recs. The 29-year-old spent eight seasons at The Shay, and became one of the second tier’s most renowned hookers.

His form in 2020 earned him a short stay in the top flight, as he was picked up by Huddersfield Giants for the second half of the covid-hampered campaign due to the Championship season being cancelled. There, he made four appearances, before re-joining the Panthers for 2021.

In 2024, he moved to Batley Bulldogs, and since that move has played 58 times for the club, scoring six tries.

He will now stay in the second tier but will have a new home, and will link-up with the Birmingham-based outfit for the upcoming season, with an option in his contract available to keep him there for a further year.

Midlands head coach, Mark Dunning, was delighted to sign a man with Moore’s experience, particularly in a time where bringing in a new hooker was imperative.

“We’re delighted to welcome Brandon and his family to the Canes and our wide wider Canes family,” said Dunning.

“With Danny Barcoe’s injury against Whitehaven meaning we needed to recruit a hooker for 2026, we were delighted to hear Brandon was available. He is an experienced and formidable hooker who will suit our spine nicely and add some additional experience alongside some of our more recent signings. He is a threat from both dummy-half and in supporting runs and will pull his weight in defence when called upon.

“Brandon is another quality player with 250 career games under his belt at Championship and Super League level. Despite this he’s still only 29 years of age and he’s another player I firmly believe is entering the prime of his career as he joins us. I’m sure fans will be very impressed with how quickly he links up with Aiden and the rest of the team once he has a couple of months of pre-season behind him.”
