STARR COUNTY, Texas — The Starr County Industrial Foundation (SCIF), in partnership with Workforce Solutions and RGV Get Hired, proudly hosted the 2025 Starr County Fall Job Fair & Resume Power Up at the South Texas College Starr County Campus. The event brought together dozens of employers and over a hundred job seekers eager to explore new career opportunities.
This year’s fair proved to be a resounding success, with 30 employersin attendance, offering a wide range of job openings across industries. The event welcomed 162 job seekers, resulting in 116 on-site interviews and an impressive 84 potential hires.
Participating employers included major regional and national organizations such as U.S. Border Patrol, Starr County Sheriff’s Office, McAllen Careers Institute, Southern Careers Institute, Starr County Memorial Hospital, Wonderful Citrus, IOC Trucking, LLC., Domino’s Pizza, McDonald’s, Legacy Home Health Agency, Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (Valley Metro), Alpha Care Home Health, Cricket Wireless, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, RGV CDL Services, LLC., Border Region, Walmart, Starr County Juvenile Probation, Nuestra Clinica Del Valle, South Texas College Valley Promise, Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division Region IV, MET, Inc., and Mint Orthodontics, among others.
Through partnerships and community collaboration, the event provided a platform for job seekers to connect directly with hiring employers, enhance their résumés, and gain valuable career guidance. The “Resume Power Up” station gave attendees an opportunity to polish their professional materials and boost their confidence before interviews.
