International wildlife charity Born Free found that more than 2,700 dangerous wild animals are being kept with licences in the UK and Northern Ireland.

Across Norfolk, 40 wild animals are being kept privately, ranging from clouded leopards to ostriches and wild boar.

The two clouded leopards are in Breckland and a black and white ruffed lemur can also be found in the district.

Clouded leopards have the largest canine teeth to body size proportion of any animal.

A wild boar and an ostrich make up the animals being kept privately in the Broadland area, while 25 blackbucks, a type of antelope, make up the privately kept animals in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk.

North Norfolk houses three tapirs and two camels, while South Norfolk has two savannah cats and three servals.

All animals are being kept legally under the Dangerous Animals Act 1976.
