Brendan Rodgers has addressed a question about Celtic being in ‘crisis’ in his Europa League press conference ahead of the Sturm Graz clash.

The Celtic boss faced the press for the first time since the Hoops lost to Dundee at the weekend and Rodgers seemed in fine form.

In his post-match Dundee press conference Rodgers looked deflated as Celtic lost their unbeaten start to the domestic season.

And as the Hoops boss prepares for the visit of Sturm Graz to Celtic Park, Rodgers was asked about supporters believing that the club is in crisis.

Celtic supporters are clearly unhappy at how the team is performing and the lack of goals in the team. And after dropping more points against Dundee, Rodgers was asked his thoughts about supporters feeling that he, the players and the boardroom are ‘stale’ and that the club is in ‘crisis’.

Rodgers told the Celtic press conference, “Well, there’s no doubt that it’s in a difficult moment, and I think it goes hand in hand.

“If I’m honest, I think that it is difficult. We understood what we wanted to be as a football team in the summer and we never quite managed to get there. So of course we now have to live with that.

“So that’s something that every day we’re trying to improve and make better.

“But there’s absolutely no doubt that we’re in a difficult moment and we have to stand together and come through, and that’s what’s going to be important if we’re going to progress.”

You can watch Rodgers’ reaction below as the Celtic manager paused before delivering his answer.

Celtic’s woeful record against Austrian sides in Europe

Celtic have never faced Sturm Graz in Europe but have played Austrian competition 12 times and have a terrible record.

Here is how the Hoops have fared:

Just two wins from 12 is not a great record and if Celtic want to keep their Europa League campaign on track, Rodgers must ensure that he secures a victory tonight at Parkhead to bank three important points.
