Official listening figures have revealed Kent’s radio station, kmfm, has seen its audience grow again this year.

The channel now has 173,000 listeners tuning in for a total of 1.113 million hours every week, 234,000 hours more than the previous quarter.

It comes as the station, which broadcasts exclusively from Kent to Kent, saw a major shake-up in its programming this year, welcoming familiar presenters to new programming slots.

Since launching in January, the refreshed Breakfast Show with Rob and Numi is up by 33,000 listening hours, while Getting You Home with Ben Pearce is up by 31,000 hours.

However, Andy Walker, who presents the weekday slot, has seen the biggest increase this quarter with 133,000 hours.

Alongside on-air growth, the latest figures from SharpStream show that in the same period, kmfm averaged 52,378 monthly unique online listeners, via the kmfm app, website and smart devices.

It also saw 340,000 total streams and more than 715,000 hours of listening online.
