Arsenal welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Eagles represent a tough test for the Gunners as they aim to stay on top of the Premier League, having only lost one game so far this season, a defeat which ended their club-record unbeaten run of 19 games.

As Mikel Arteta prepares his Arsenal side for the game, Oliver Glasner has issued a warning.

Oliver Glasner says he knows “exactly” how he plans to set up against Arsenal

The Austrian warned Pep Guardiola he would “solve” his tactical shape in the FA Cup final last season weeks before he actually did, and a similar warning has now been issued to Arteta.

Glasner – who Manchester United admire – told the official CPFC website on Wednesday that he knows “exactly” what his Crystal Palace side must do to stifle Arsenal, saying: “It’s not the first time we’ll play Arsenal. I watched yesterday’s game (4-0 win over Atletico Madrid). Wow, they’re in quite a good shape… (but) honestly, they didn’t change the way they are playing.

“We know exactly what we want to do there, but we will talk about Arsenal on Friday… everything I saw (against Atletico Madrid) I already knew.”

Glasner certainly sounds confident that his Crystal Palace side can get a result on Sunday, which should unnerve Arteta considering all the 51-year-old has achieved in SE25 so far.

Mikel Arteta has his own secret weapon in Eberechi Eze

Glasner is unquestionably confident, but he must be wary of what Eberechi Eze might let slip to Arteta.

The England international made two appearances for the Eagles this season before his £68m move to Arsenal in August, so he has fresh knowledge of the tactics Crystal Palace tend to use.

Eze – who Tottenham wanted – will also know the weaknesses of Marc Guehi, Maxence Lacroix and Chris Richards, having trained against the trio on a daily basis, which could give him an edge on the pitch this Sunday.

Of course, Glasner might opt to spring a tactical surprise on the Gunners, but it would be a shock if he changed the fundamentals of his side, so Arteta can certainly lean on Eze for a bit of insight when it comes to preparing for this potential banana skin of a football match.
