In a bid to bring in funds and support for the club, Sabrina Ramsay contacted Jonathan on social media in hopes that he would visit the club and meet the girls.

With a fundraising raffle soon approaching, Sabrina invited Jonathan down in the hope that he would sign some of the raffle prizes to help raise funds for more equipment and team building sessions.

Jonathan, who has a property in Swanage, was more than happy to help out- even arranging an inspirational video from Chloe Kelly to show the girls.

The team is currently managed by Wesley Ramsay and Oliver Jones and Wesley’s wife, Sabrina, describes the team as a ‘family’, adding that they try their best to go ‘above and beyond’ to coach and guide them.

Sabrina said: “We are like a family, a football family we like to call it.”

Bringing his two dogs Spooky and Pumpkin to meet the girls, Jonathan was keen to speak to the team, adding that it would be great to watch them play a match in the future.

He added that having a place in Swanage made him want to engage in the community and events such as these.

He said: “We wanted to engage in the community.

“If you’re lucky enough to have a place down here, you should engage, so I make an effort to do that.”

On the topic of traitors, Jonathan described the experience as ‘challenging’, adding that it was difficult to lie all the time.

He said: “You know it’s a game, but I found it very challenging because you’re lying all the time .

“They were all really nice people, and it’s not nice to lie to bad people, but when you lie to really nice people, it really troubled me.”

He added that the lying seemed to affect himself the most out of Alan Carr and Cat Burns, with the pair seemingly being able to compartmentalise more.

The youth team, which is sponsored by Bournemouth Glass company, Jones and Prior, Nathan Streams and The Fish Plaice, is made up of 16 girls from local schools, some of which have special needs and one of these being Sabrina’s daughter Mollie-Mae, who was diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and ARFID.

Sabrina said: “This team has given her the strength to not give up and to work hard to achieve what she does.

“Football has become her passion and helps us as a family to encourage her that she can do and be anything she wants to in life.”

She added that there are families within the team who struggle to afford new boots for their daughters and the upcoming fundraiser will help to support them with this.

Sabrina said: “We just want to raise awareness and financial support for local youth teams, make children with special needs aware that they can participate in all sports and not be judged.

“This sport keeps the children’s passion alive, gives them hope that they can achieve no matter what, we are so proud of them.

“We will all definitely remember that time together for the rest of our lives.”
