It’s been quite the season for Primož Roglič. The DNF at the Giro d’Italia, the apathy (and socks) at the Tour de France, and then Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe’s signing of Remco Evenepoel, which will knock him back down the pecking order once again, something that forced his move to the German team away from Visma-Lease a Bike two years ago.
In an end-of-season interview with Cyclingnews, Roglič reflected on a 2025 campaign that didn’t meet his expectations, but that he is still committed to cycling heading into 2026, the last year of his Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe contract, and then offered up this sensational line:
“If I didn’t care, then I would be on Bora Bora island, not in Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe,” he said.
How has no-one trotted out that one before?! The Slovenian still has it.

What’s this? Oh, just UCI President David Lappartient publicly tweeting support for former French President Nicolas Sarkozy on the day he was sentenced to five years in prison for conspiring to fund his election campaign with money from the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
Sarkozy and Lappartient go way back, as Lappartient was a member of Sarkozy’s Les Républicains party as he moved his way through local politics en route to eventually trying to restrict professional cyclists’ gear limits this season.
