Celtic’s win against Sturm Graz was marred by injury concerns.
The game had barely got underway when Brendan Rodgers was forced to replace Kelechi Iheanacho, who went down with a mysterious hamstring injury having not touched the ball.
To make matters worse, Alistair Johnston, who was making his return from his own hamstring injury, also pulled up in the first-half, and is likely to miss further action.
Johnny Kenny and Colby Donovan were brought on to replace the injured pair, and the Hoops went on to win the game 2-1.
But now, Rodgers has dropped bombshell news of a further injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers – and it’s a significant one.
Celtic’s Cameron Carter-Vickers in huge injury blow
Carter-Vickers has been a mainstay for the Hoops when fit, since arriving at Celtic Park under Ange Postecoglou in 2021.
Despite this, he has regularly suffered with injuries. In each of his five seasons, he has picked up an injury of some sort.

Rodgers has now revealed that his latest issue, an injury to his achilles, will keep him out for three to five months in a devastating blow for the USA defender.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Hoops’ top-of-the-table clash against Hearts, Rodgers confirmed the massive injury news.
He said: “One that we haven’t mentioned is Cameron Carter-Vickers – he looks like he’s done his achilles, which could be anywhere between three and five months.
“So we just await confirmation of that, it’s not great news, but we’ll see where that one goes.
“Cam has been a very important member of the squad, and he’s been a great centre-half for the club. But what I always think it does is open the door and give the opportunity to someone else.
“That opportunity came to Liam Scales, and he’s been brilliant in my time here, and you seen his performance last night – he was so good.
“So it will open the door for someone else to come in and perform.”

Who will that someone be – Auston Trusty? Dane Murray? Jahmai Simpson-Pusey? Time will tell.
