Fallout 3 PS3

With no sign of a brand new Fallout game releasing in the next few years, it was left to Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Fallout: New Vegas to headline Fallout Day yesterday.

With the Xbox Series X|S, PC RPG Starfield still receiving content (with a PS5 version presumably in the works), and The Elder Scrolls 6 still seemingly years away, it is easy to paint a picture where a new Fallout entry looks to be very, very far off in the future.

In response to these concerns, Bethesda lead Todd Howard concluded the Fallout Day livestream by reassuring fans the developer is “working on even more” in relation to the series. His full quote reads:

Even though I am recording this — it’s not live — and I’m probably watching myself right now from my desk and I’m reading your chat and these… that thing you want and this other thing you want… Hey, we read it all. Just know we are working on even more. We are looking forward to the day when we can share that with everybody.

As for what Bethesda could be working on, a Fallout 5 will likely be top of fans’ wishlists. However, it’s also speculated a remaster of Fallout 3 is in the works. This was reported in 2023 alongside an Oblivion remake, which has now become a reality. Bethesda worked with Virtuos to bring back the RPG classic in Unreal Engine 5, and despite some technical issues that still exist, it’s on the whole a fantastic remaster of the game.

As for what Bethesda did announce yesterday, it was confirmed a Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is coming to PS5, PS4 next month to mark 10 years of the game. Then, next year, Fallout 76 will get a native PS5 version, and there’s a special re-release of Fallout: New Vegas on PC.

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he’s found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
