Martin Rogers, based in Teesdale, has opened a display and sales space at Middleton Mart, offering visitors a chance to browse and purchase his photographic work.

The studio, which Mr Rogers describes as a “Picture Palace,” primarily features images from around Teesdale but also includes photographs from Weardale and further afield.

Mr Rogers said: “I am delighted to announce that I now have a ‘studio’ in Middleton Mart, which I am using as a display and sales space for my work.

“This has been primarily photographs taken in and around Teesdale, but increasingly includes Weardale and further afield.”

The gallery is open to the public during events at the mart, such as the monthly Farmers/Indie market held on the fourth Saturday of each month and the UTASS Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 29.

Visitors can also arrange an appointment to visit at other times.

Mr Rogers said: “I live just across the bridge from the Mart, and can be there in three minutes.”

His work is available in a variety of formats and sizes.

He offers 120x80cm canvases, smaller prints, fridge magnets, mounted prints, and a wide selection of greeting cards and postcards.

He said: “I also have a lovely calendar of local images, my A4-landscape book Essential Teesdale, an affectionate portrait of the dale with 76 full-colour pages and 150 photographs, and an A5 book, High Force, with 39 full-page pictures – including several as most people will never have seen it.”

The cards and postcards include 15 snow scenes, ideal for Christmas.

While the main focus is on Teesdale’s landscape and wildlife, Mr Rogers also features a range of other subjects and locations in his collection.

His work is already on display in several local pubs.

He said: “All in all, the studio is a veritable ‘Picture Palace’ of photographs, with the focus very much on Teesdale’s wonderful landscape and nature – but including a variety of other subjects and locations.”

Mr Rogers is also in the process of updating his website.

He said: “I am also busy developing my website, which I recently switched to a different platform and is taking much longer to complete than I would have wished.”
