Jasmine appears to be targeting Cindy Beale on EastEnders, with the latest episode dropping the biggest hints yet.

Warning, this article contains spoilers from Wednesday’s episode now available on BBC iPlayer. She managed to convince Peter Beale to let her stay at his and Lauren Branning’s home for a bit, even getting Peter to agree to her staying in a specific room. Having already sparked suspicions with what she’s up to, Jasmine asked to stay in the spare room, the very room Cindy stays in.

With Cindy away for a while it’s empty, giving Jasmine every reason to suggest she could have the room for a bit until Peter’s mother returns to Walford. Peter seemed reluctant but did agree, while he issued a warning.

Peter made a point of asking Jasmine not to touch any of Cindy’s belongings. This scene felt a little bit cryptic and significant, so what are the chances her eagerness to be in that room in particular means something?

That wasn’t all, and just as Peter confirmed she could stay in Cindy’s room, a dart was shown hitting bullseye on the pub’s dartboard. So does this imply Jasmine has hit bullseye in convincing Peter to let her into Cindy’s room?

Perhaps we are overthinking it, but it seems like a sign. All three things in that one scene, the room request, the mum comment and the dart scene, do seem to band together to form major clues about Jasmine’s plan.

After all, she is clearly hiding something from love interest Oscar Branning, and she seems intent on getting closer to Cindy. As well as working with her at the bar she owns, Jasmine seemed very interested in Cindy’s past recently.

Making jibes about people giving up their children, there’s plenty of hints in episodes that could imply she’s targeting Cindy, even getting close to Oscar, Peter’s brother-in-law. As for her mystery family, a recent car accident saw Jasmine hospitalised.

She refused to allow hospital staff to call her mum, and a scene prior saw Jasmine claiming a mystery “she” had ruined everything to Nigel. When Oscar was curious about the fact Jasmine had no social media, she claimed her strict parents were to blame.

The soap is yet to confirm who her parents are, while Jasmine’s surname is Fisher. A theory is that she could be linked to Jackie Ford, the prison inmate Cindy informed on decades earlier.

Cindy ended up going into witness protection for years, faking her death in the process. Years later and claims that Jackie was dead didn’t make Cindy feel any safer, fearing a relative could be out to get her – so is Jasmine that relative?
