Irish horror movie Isolation has landed a new UK streaming home. Originally released back in 2005, the film focuses on five people who become unwilling partakers in an experiment on a remote farm that goes horribly wrong.
Dropping just in time for Halloween, fans wanting to catch the horror can now do so via Channel 4 after being broadcast on Film4 last night, while the film is also free to watch on YouTube with ads.
Isolation comes from director and writer Billy O’Brien, and features performances from Blue Lights’ John Lynch, Alien: Earth’s Essie Davis, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’s Marcel IureÈ™, Mission: Impossible’s Sean Harris and Passing’s Ruth Negga.

The movie sits at a strong 70% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 10 reviews, with ESplatter suggesting that O’Brien “conjures a remarkable genre achievement: a somber, sad, and absolutely convincing film that is also genuinely terrifying”.
“Lovers of accidental monsters, science gone awry, and suffocating environments are urged to watch this hidden gem,” added Bloody Disgusting, while All Movie Guide suggested that “fans of good old-fashioned creature features should be very pleased” with Isolation.

Variety further called it “a moody horror opus about the fatal aftermath of DNA research at a remote Irish dairy farm”, adding that “novice writer-director Billy O’Brien brings a seriousness of purpose and a modicum of showmanship to the task of serving generic B-movie cheese”.
If you’re looking for more horror flicks this Halloween, Channel 4 has also added British psychological horror In Fear, which follows a young couple who are pursued by a mysterious tormentor while getting lost in a maze of country roads.
Recent horror hit Presence has also become available to stream, this time for Sky Cinema and NOW subscribers. Starring Lucy Liu, the movie follows a family who move to a new home, only to realise it is occupied by a mysterious presence. The film takes a unique approach in that it is shot from the point of view of the entity.
Isolation is streaming now via Channel 4 and YouTube.
