Warrington Wolves have announced their squad numbers for the 2026 Super League season with some big changes made.
It’s been a busy 24 hours or so for Warrington with two new signings announced on Thursday, five retentions, one departure and the news that one of their signings for 2026 won’t actually be signing.
Tevita Pangai Jr was the first signing announced by the Wolves but he won’t be joining the club with Warrington confirming that the prop had informed them of his decision not to join.
That surprise news came alongside new deals for five others including Sam Stone, who signed permanently after his loan move last year, as well as Jake Thewlis, Jordy Crowther, Toby King and Sam Powell.
Wire also announced that centre Rodrick Tai would be leaving, a move that was on the cards given they had signed Josh Smith from the Queensland Cup along with James Bentley in a double signing earlier on Thursday.
With their squad locked in, Warrington Wolves have announced their squad numbers and there are some big changes.

The biggest of those changes is at the number one shirt with Matt Dufty replaced by young full-back Cai Taylor-Wray, who spent much of 2025 injured.
However, when Taylor-Wray did return, he got game time as Dufty was out of the picture at times late in the year due to internal discipline issues which have led to reports from All Out Rugby League that the Australian has been informed he can leave.
Nevertheless, Dufty has been handed a squad number with the 2024 Man of Steel nominee set to wear the number 24 shirt instead.
New signing Albert Hopoate takes number four with fellow new centre recruit Josh Smith taking 26. Luke Yates has been handed the number eight shirt after spending much of 2025 at prop.
Liam Byrne and Toafofoa Sipley take 16 and 15 respectively with James Bentley taking number 20.
Young star Ewan Irwin has been handed the 18 shirt with Leon Hayes and Oli Leyland wearing 19 and 28.
