The rugby league team who will represent Rob Burrow in the 745 Game later this month has been confirmed with a host of former Super League stars.
Last year marked the first 745 Game with the hybrid match being the brainchild of rugby league legend Rob Burrow and rugby union man Ed Slater, both of whom were diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Rob Burrow sadly lost his battle with MND last year whilst Slater is still fighting. They represent the numbers seven and four, their respective shirt numbers, whilst the late great Doddie Weir, a man who gave so much inspiration to Rob Burrow and others with MND, represents the number five.
Last year’s game saw the rugby league side come out on top at Headingley but this year’s event will be played at Kingsholm Stadium, the home of Gloucester, on Sunday the 9th November.
The rugby league squad has been confirmed with 28 men including some legends of the sport named.
Super League legends feature for rugby league side in 745 Game
A number of former Leeds Rhinos stars played in last year’s game at Headingley and that’s no different this year with Brett Delaney, Kyle Leuluai and Keith Senior featuring, as well as other former Leeds Rhinos men who were perhaps better known elsewhere such as Luke Gale.
Adrian Morley is another big name with Danny Houghton among those who are more recently retired but some are even more recently retired than the Hull FC man.
Both Chris Hill and Michael Lawrence left Bradford Bulls at the end of the 2025 season and confirmed their retirement whilst George Griffin, who is still playing, is also named.
The full team can be seen below, listed in alphabetical order of surname. Details on the game and the causes it supports can be found here.
