Redundant Bognor Regis power poles get new role helping wildlife

Poles that once carried electricity across West Sussex are being given a new lease of life helping wildlife.

They have been repurposed as nesting sites for barn owls and swifts on the Bersted Brooks nature reserve near Bognor Regis.

Each pole has been fitted with a nesting box.

They had been part of the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks system, with much of the cabling now underground.
