She’s best known as the tough-as-nails space Marine from one of the biggest Sci-Fi blockbusters ever made – barking the immortal line, ‘Let’s rock!’ before charging into battle.

Audiences have watched her take on aliens, be a blood-thirsty vampire and even play a foster mom in a world with a killer cyborg.

She popped up in three of a certain legendary director’s biggest hits, proving she could blend into any universe he dreamed up whether that’s an Irish immigrant on a sinking ship or a hotel maid in a crime-ridden city.

Though her on-screen roles slowed after her explosive debut, this actress kept busy guest-starring across acclaimed TV dramas.

These days, she’s traded Hollywood sets for satin and lace, running a lingerie empire whose alphabet famously ‘starts at D.’

And despite hanging up her pulse rifle, fans still salute her as one of Sci-Fi’s fiercest icons at her many Comic-Con appearances.

Can you guess who?

It’s Jenette Goldstein!

This 65-year-old actress was spotted running errands in Los Angeles this month.

Goldstein cut a casual but trendy figure, wearing boyfriend blue jeans, a flowy gray top with a speckled gray cardigan on top.

Wearing her hair up in her classic messy bun with only one gray strip visible as an accent piece, she accessorized with a black purse, sunglasses and tan slides.

Being born in Los Angeles in 1960 was the perfect recipe for Goldstein’s acting aspirations and she went on to streamline her acting chops both in the US and the UK before breaking into Hollywood.

It wouldn’t be until 1986 where she would have her breakout role as Private Vasquez in the hit blockbuster Aliens directed by the legendary James Cameron.

Goldstein expressed in an interview with TooFab magazine that she was ‘surprised’ by the movies long-standing success but stated she was a ‘huge fan’.

One of Goldstein’s biggest Sci-Fi roles was as the ruthless vampire Diamondback in Kathryn Bigelow’s neo-Western classic, Near Dark (1987).

During the 80s, she’d also have small roles in The Presidio (1988), Miracle Mile (1998) and Lethal Weapon 2 (1989).

Her second biggest movie she was booked for came in the 90s, when she appeared in Cameron’s other high-grossing Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) as John Connor’s foster mom who is killed by cyborg T-1000.

Goldstein would pair up with powerhouse Cameron again for a minor role in Titanic (1997) as an Irish immigrant.

Outside of the big screen, Goldstein also made appearances on hit TV dramas such as ER (1998–2004), Six Feet Under (2001) and 24 (2004).

Her last notable role came when she voiced the USS Enterprise computer on Star Trek: Short Treks in 2019.

By the turn of the 21st century, Goldstein’s acting career slowed down, and she pivoted into business, launching the lingerie brand Jenette Bras in Los Angeles in 2009.

The brand’s slogan, ‘The alphabet starts at D’, reflects its mission to cater to fuller-busted women – an idea inspired by a fitting Goldstein once had at a Bravissimo store  while attending a convention in England.

In an interview with Authority Magazine, Goldstein recalled one memorable encounter that embodied her company’s spirit.

‘I always remember the woman who came in for a bikini because she was vacationing in Hawaii – because after three miscarriages, she was finally pregnant and they wanted to celebrate.

‘The fitting ended in tears and hugs (and a bikini).’

To this day, Goldstein has attended Sci-Fi convections like Comic-Con, with her most recent appearance being at Fan Expo in Chicago in August alongside Alien co-stars Mark Rolston, Paul Reiser, William Hope and Ricco Ross.
