Remember, remember, the fifth of November…
Guy Fawkes: Blood and Fire transforms the legendary historical figure into a supernatural terror. Watch our exclusive teaser trailer below.
The film is described as blending historical horrors with contemporary dread in the vein of The Ninth Gate and The Da Vinci Code, coupled with The Omen-style folklore.
In the movie, when an ancient mask is unearthed during excavations on a construction site it triggers a terrifying series of deaths by spontaneous combustion.
An insurance investigator and a psychic medium must uncover the terrifying truth of an evil prophecy dating back hundreds of years and prevent the spirit of Guy Fawkes from opening a gateway to Hell and ripping apart the fabric of time itself.
Benjamin David directs from a script by Dominic Philpott. Jonathan Sothcott produces for Shogun Films.
Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott, Charlie Woodward, Jonathan Oliver, Tony Sands, Pierse Stevens, and Paul Preston star, with Paul Terry as Guy Fawkes.
“Guy Fawkes: Blood & Fire continues our commitment to making ambitious, original ‘instant cult’ genre movies using the best of British talent,” said Sothcott. “This is a clever, Dan Brown-style thriller with a supernatural twist rather than a slasher movie, playing into our deep-seated horror of spontaneous combustion with lashings of Omen style folklore.”
Sothcott continues, “A superb cast and an incredibly talented creative team lead by Ben David are crafting something very special indeed. I’m delighted to usher Guy Fawkes into the movies and look forward to seeing him light up the screen, quite literally.”
Guy Fawkes was a Catholic plotter who was involved in the infamous failed Gunpowder Plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605. He was caught guarding the stash of Gunpowder to be used for the massacre, which would have changed the course of history.
After confessing, Fawkes was sentenced to death by being hung, drawn and quartered. The event is commemorated annually in England with Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night celebrations throughout the land.
Guy Fawkes: Blood & Fire is currently in production with early 2026 release expected in the UK via Trinity Content. Shogun is planning a limited comic book series and a novelization to support the release.
