London Broncos are well on their way to building a Championship squad that will be competing at the top of the table next year. With the club looking to earn Super League promotion for 2027, they are doing everything they can on-field to make sure that happens.
Having announced that NRL trio Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Siliva Havili and Dean Hawkins would all join the squad for 2026, many were left impressed by their recruitment. Adding to their star names were some young talents, including Wakefield’s Neil Tchamambe and former Leeds academy prospect Bobby Hartley, to ensure a mixture of youth and experience would be part of the journey.
Their latest signing comes with both of those qualities, as 22-year-old Finley Glare joins the club.
Glare, who can play at both hooker and in the halves, is a Papua New Guinea international, after making his representative debut in last year’s annual Prime Minister’s XIII fixture against the Australian PM’s XIII.
Featuring in the same event this year, he then went on to make his Pacific Championships debut, and started in the halves in the country’s second game of the tournament against Fiji.
Playing club rugby at the PNG Hunters in the Queensland Cup, he has made 36 appearances for the side over the past two seasons, scoring eight tries and kicking eight goals.
Glare will make the move to England’s capital for the upcoming season, and will look to follow in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Lachlan Lam, Edwin Ipape, Nene MacDonald and Rhyse Martin in making his mark on the English game.
